Brooks Elise Walker, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, died unexpectedly on September 14, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Her sudden passing has left her family, friends, and loved ones grieving the loss of a woman remembered for her adventurous spirit, generosity, humor, and love for life.
Brooks was born on January 28, 1990, to Eben Walker and Patty Brooks Walker. She grew up in Riverside surrounded by her brothers and neighborhood friends and attended Riverside School and Greenwich Country Day School during her elementary and middle school years.
Remembering Brooks Elise Walker
Brooks developed a love for both figure skating and sailing at a young age. She later sailed competitively at Riverside Yacht Club, Greenwich High School, and Georgetown University.
Following college, Brooks worked in finance before moving into software sales. She particularly enjoyed building relationships with new customers and often regarded her clients as friends rather than simply business contacts.
Her love of adventure carried into many areas of her life. Brooks enjoyed skiing and hiking in the Colorado mountains, cold plunges in the Rhode Island ocean, and traveling whenever she had the opportunity. Her family remembered that she was almost always ready for her next journey, with her suitcase often half packed.
Brooks also found joy in quieter pursuits. She tended her Colorado garden, worked on oil paintings, and enjoyed music across many genres. Singing, particularly Gospel music, held a special place in her life and provided a meaningful way for her to connect with God.
A Life Filled With Love and Adventure
Those who knew Brooks remembered her as someone with a generous heart and a strong sense of humor. She took pleasure in celebrating the people she loved and enjoyed finding thoughtful gifts for family and friends.
She also had a lifelong love of strawberry ice cream, one of the many personal details that will remain part of the memories shared by those closest to her.
Brooks is survived by her parents, her brothers Colin and Andrew and their spouses, Diah and Nathalia, as well as her nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and her beloved dogs, Scout and Brady.
Her family and friends will continue to remember Brooks for the energy she brought into their lives, her willingness to embrace new experiences, her deep relationships with others, and the many passions that made her who she was.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or another charity of the donor’s choice.
